One-Week-One-Pattern

Hello!

I participated in One-Week-One-Pattern this past week. (For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, you can look at Miss Jane's post.) When I first saw OWOP I did not read the details very closely and therefore I thought that we were supposed to be sewing a new outfit from the same pattern every day! I knew that I could not do that so I ignored it. Then when I saw all the lovely giveaways that only participants of OWOP could enter I thought, "Hey, I'm going to go check that out again!" I am glad I did. I had a lot of fun with this, with or without giveaway opportunitues! I chose Simplicity 1460 as my pattern for this week. (Surprise, surprise.) Without further adieu, here are my pictures:

Day 1:
Simplicity 1460 bodice with a half circle skirt.
When I originally made this dress I took my length of skirt fabric and gathered it and simply attached the whole thing to the bodice. Needless to say, it did not work out too well. The length of the skirt was not the most flattering, what's more, I just did not like it. (Unfortunately I do not have any "before" pictures.) I knew I had to change the skirt and OWOP was the final shove to fix it up. I simply took the old skirt off and cut out a half circle skirt.

Day 2:
Simplicity 1460 with a circle skirt. (Blogged here)

Day 3:
This is the same as the last one. (Blogged here)

Day 4:
Repeat of day two.

Day 5:
I forgot to take a picture of my outfit for this day, but I wore this same outfit.

Day 6:

This is where the "magic" happens! I am blessed by a  nice open sewing/crafting room.
Day 7:

Day 8:
I made up for the skipped day by doing this outfit. I combined my tunic top with a petticoat that my sister-in-law made for my older sister to wear under a formal dress. I commandeered it and I wear it either underneath my other skirts (like here) or by itself as I am doing here.

I really enjoyed doing OWOP. I am looking forward to doing it again next year! A BIG thank you to Miss Jane for overseeing it!

Have a fantastic week!

~Emily

P.S. I am wearing a tulle petticoat underneath all of my dresses.

  2. Absolutely gorgeous dresses! I love the fact that a couple of versions (gingham and yellow) look just like blouse and skirt separates. You really suit that silhouette too - fab! x
